Banana and strawberry smoothie is one of the most popular and beloved in North America. Easy to make and with every-day ingredients, you can prepare it fresh every morning for the entire family, and put it in a jar to grab on the go to the office or school.

Equipment

  • 1 knife

  • 1 food processor or mixer

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 2 cups strawberries

  • 1 cup unsweetened milk of your choice (almonds, soy, hazelnut)

  • 1 splash of maple syrup

  • 1 cup ice cubes

  • 2 fresh mint leaves (optional)

Peel and slice the vegetables

If using fresh fruit, peel the banana and slice it. Rinse well the strawberries, eliminate the leaves, and halve them. Rinse the mint leaves, if using.

Blend

Put all the ingredients into the blender's cup, starting with the ice cubes, then the fruit, and finally the liquids. Blend until the texture is smooth and velvety (~1 minute).

Serve

Pour the smoothie into a jar or a glass and enjoy cold!

Notes

If you don't want to use ice cubes, sub the fresh banana with a frozen banana. If you don't have maple syrup, sub with a teaspoon of fructose or other sweetener, to taste.
